wake up, sophie black doll.

She has been sleeping in my storeroom for a long time. Few days ago, I took her out and I realised that she is still a pretty baby! I had fun styling and shooting her with the great help by RenJie Teo. (‘u’)

Awaken

Thrown into reality
Right into mortality

She could hardly open her eyes
She could barely move

Unable to face the cruel world
Unable to withstand the extreme climate

She wanted to remain in deep sleep
Never awaken to the agony on earth
(words by cyanwater)

Done in Photoshop.

I think i’m starting to figure out how Ashley Wood does his texture effects. Put your scanned high contrast b/w texture on the bottom layer. add a linear dodge layer above it and punch in your colours on that layer. then have your line and colour layers on top of it all with the layers set to “multiply” or “darken”. Ashley Wood gurus out there pls share some insights.
