Fleecircus @ Moleskine Passions Exhibition

Am very honored to be invited by Moleskine once again to be one of the creatives for Moleskine Passions Exhibition. I have chose Movies as my preferred inspirations. Here’s a sneak peek of what I’ve done.

Will post the final submission once its ready, in the meanwhile maybe you might know which movies these quick ink drawings are inspired from?

Ok heres the “answers”, from bottom clockwise to centre: Mary Poppins (1964), Penelope (2006), The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (時をかける少女) (2006), Streets Of Fire (1984), Lars And The Real Girl (2007), Thank You For Smoking (2005), Gran Turino (2008), The French Connection (1971).

lighting studies

these were based on photo books at the library during oic draw-at-the-library. Since the library is rather careful about what you bring in to the reference section, I just brought the minimum compact tools. And I had to be careful not to spray any ink on their expensive books! Mornings are the best times as it doesn’t get crowded yet. Join us next time. Ballpoint/pencil + brush and ink.

Milton Glaser Documentary @ design film festival

If you are a practising designer / visual artist/ illustrator- see this solid inspiring documentary “To Inform & Delight” about the man- Milton Glaser!

In case you have not heard about him- he is the co-founder of Push Pin Studios and the creator of the “I ♥ NY logo” and a very successful designer and ILLUSTRATOR ………. he is still practising his craft  ( 80yrs old !!)
He has influenced alot of illustrators and designers for many years and if you know his work you can still see traces or homage to this master even today!
