I’m a hobbyist “illustrator” (not sure i qualify for the term), have a day job and sketch on evenings and weekends, only started this year, but I am trying to push myself to take it more seriously and improve. Just want to say that like kevindoodlepants, I don’t have a portfolio but if this event was repeated next year or if the deadline was extended to end of the year, I would definitely register and take part and hope to be selected. Meanwhile wish you guys all the best and thanks for doing this.

I’m not sure what the new proportion is for but maybe you take a look first and if you feel can be adapted then let me know But it seems hard to me.

Just wanted to double check the additional template size required for submission. 1024 x 1024 pixels makes a square – I don’t think my submission’s proportions can be changed so drastically and still look like what it’s meant to look like. So is it ok if i just submit the other 2 sizes? thanks!

I tried to register but it wouldn’t let me. :/ They didn’t recognize my email and asked me to register as a first-time member.

1. The Theme is stated there in the blog post point 3 – ” Theme: Cute/ Fashion/ Action/ Surreal/ Cityscape/ Futuristic/ Others ( Pick a theme for each artwork ) ”
2. Do it at the bigger size but submit the jpg in the 2 given sizes.
3. Hence “PREFERRED”. We hope you have time to do something new- but its up to you.

1. So there isn’t any theme / prompt for the artworks, but new artworks would be preferred?

2. I was d/l-ing the template, realized that there are two sizes – 480 x 320 and 960 x 640. So the artworks should be of these two dimensions, right?

3. I can’t confirm yet that I can submit new artworks before the end of this month / deadline. Is it possible to submit artworks that aren’t new? Also, when’s the cut-off date for sign-ups?

As it is our aim in encouraging more serious interest in the pursuit of drawing and illustrations- take this as an kick start for yourself to start collecting and showing your work and establish a simple folio blog.

You can sign up 1st and work on the folio later before we launch the new platform around October.
