Mindflyer’s Tangs Christmas Hunt
Posted: November 25th, 2010 | Author: mindflyer | Filed under: portfolio | Tags: michael ng, mindflyer, oicsingapore, ORGANISATION OF ILLUSTRATORS COUNCIL, singapore illustrator, Tangs Christmas Hunt | 9 Comments »This is my new game illustration for Tangs Christmas Hunt. Had the opportunity to work on another game with Kevin of Spoon for Tangs. Basically the brief is pretty open- make it Christmassy and it should look really busy visually. We explored some direction before settling on an Alice in Wonderland inspired fantasy city.
I am one of those mad people that love challenges like this. Had a real good time doing this illustration even though the timing was shorter than I would have preferred.
Do try and play the game and win the prizes. Link is here.

WOW SO MUCH DETAILS !!! man..great stuff ! how long did you spend for this? how do you manage the perspective for such work? i mean, there are so many elements..must be a pain
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GASP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Shyam – thx
1. Like what Jerry commented on FB – it is organised chaos – I work with almost 7 different modules of items and some hand tweaking to get the messy look.
2. Its just isometric. So everything aligns to a grid.
Did you hear that?
….
That’s the sound of my heart bursting. I think I just died, man.
@Zid- yah right !
This is just “donkey work” lah seriously, compared to all ur paintings. Much to learn from everyone.
Hope to see more process posts.
Heard that Shyam is prepping some already
.
looking fwd to it!
Hah Donkey work ! you are so funny in a humble way or should i say you are humble in a funny way? *confused*
RIP Zid
I second Zid! Hey man, Zid is amazing with his thing but you can’t compare! You are amazing with what you’re good at too! The work looks amazing! Can’t imagine how much time was spent on organising this illustration! I think i would burst a vein!
Lol Shyam – It’s as much “donkey work” as $600000 is “peanuts” :p
Thx Elvin
, let’s all excel in what we do and share more here.
