Lilian Lee X OIC human 360º camera zoetrope

As part of OIC’s challenge to its Portrait After Dark participants to have fun and to draw and think “different” – Lilian suggested that we can organise a special session to get enough drawings to make an illustrated zoetrope. A total of 26 artists participated and many wonderful portraits from very angle were produced.

Lilian kindly enlisted her friends to help her record the process via video and photographs and also to “stitched” all the collected drawings together.

Here is the final video

Here is the “making-of” video

See the photos of the event here on our FaceBook page. ( Do remember to “LIKE” us )

Special thanks to:

Lillian Lee –  for the conducting the “experiment” with us and for buying all the drawings too!
( see her other fun side projects here: http://axemarksthespot.blogspot.com/http://whomovedmyfckinwords.tumblr.com/ )

Her friends who helped to make this experiment a success – Neal (video) , Fee ( image )

Portraits of children and their aspirations

Late last year, we were commissioned by a charity to produce some portraits for the Trans Centre (a non-profit organisation for children from broken homes.)

The aim of the project was to help the children envision what they would like to be in future and drawing a portrait of them in their “dream role” to motivate them. The portraits were then presented to the children as small part of an aid package.

This is the 1st time we produce so many portraits based on photos and some verbal description of the kid’s personalities. We prefer to draw from life and in person.
Mindflyer was in charge of liaison and co-ordination ( esp since there are 5 of us involved- we have to set a size and format template to ensure consistency )

Those who participated  also include-  AnnGee,  Shyam, SanSan and Twisstii.
Special thanks to Wei Wei Yeo ( The National Art Gallery, Singapore )  for the introduction and recommendation .
