A late late post. Cheem stuff. You don’t have to understand it, just have to be in awe, mere mortals! (Zid explaining his work at the Animax/OIC exhibition last month.
I took some time off to colour up 2 of my White Frames submissions. Maybe I will save one last one for a process post heh.
Cheers and congrats to everyone who participated not just in White Frames, but in any of the art-related activities that unfortunately clashed that day!
Colours done in photoshop:
Hi everyone, I am very pleased to announce that Liquid City Vol.2 has finally arrived in Singapore and is now available In Kinokuniya! Liquid City is a comics anthology headed by Sonny Liew and contains Southeast Asian – flavoured comic stories by various artists including a few members of OIC. Do check it out when you can! Also, I’m sure there will be another announcement about this but note that there will be an official launch on 30th Oct (Sat) at Kino main Store at 2pm. So if you’re interested in getting it, you can also get it then. There will be some activities planned that day but I’m not sure what they are yet.
Had a good day at figure drawing – Don’t think I improved much but I had fun and i managed to get into the mode early on without warm-up so it felt good!
Someone said I drew the model like I’m drawing comics :p
Much thanks to Shyam for facilitating the whole thing again!
This is a wall mural design for Raffles Institution (See dad, I told you I would leave my mark on a prestigious school someday…). It measures about 3m high. I love working with schools as they aren’t usually fussy and they let you explore and do what you think it’s best, though at a price of a slight pay cut due to school budget! Oh yea, I did the vector logo of the gryphon too. cheers!
Update: This is how the design looks on the tiled wall
Quickie illustration for a friend of mine to be printed as a class tee-shirt for his physiotherapy class. DIY toys is a slightly overused concept but i thought it would be different and appropriate for the subject of physiotherapy. (ie. “Assemble your own figure to show the wonders of human mobility!”) Physiotherapy is all about helping regain/maintain mobility. PT0902 is his class. Oh the overall look is so ripped from you-know-where heh
Sometimes simplicity is better. And sometimes simplicity is not so simple. Discovering this guy has really helped shaped up my work a lot.

What I’ve been up to… Not completely happy with the layout, but fairly satisfied with the illustration.Oh well, was trying an ambitious layout so there’s a bit of a good and bad in it heh! Live and learn!
Also, added some visuals of my initial proposal sketches for this job.
