Fruity Show – Call for Submissions

The Fruity Show, an Art Doll exhibition, is calling for participants. Let your creativity loose with anything at all, from fabric, crayons, markers, glitter with the only rule that the doll has to have a fruit for a head. All artworks wil be exhibited at The Pigeonhole at Duxton Hill. The dateline for submissions ends 18 September 2011. For more information and updates, please check out Red Dot Workshop on Facebook. Call for Submission – Book Illustrators’ Gallery (BIG)

As part of the Asian Festival of Children Content ( AFCC) happening from May 26th to 28th, its organisers the Art House Singapore and National Book Development Council of Singapore (NBDCS) are inviting illustrators to contribute to the Book Illustrators’ Gallery (BIG), an exhibition showcase as part of the 3 day event.

Eligible illustrations include those which have been published in children’s books, audio/video products, comics/graphic novels, games, or are standalone works. Basic logistics like technical support and publicity will be handled by the festival, while the artist bears the cost of resizing the illustrations, sending and collection of their own artwork.

The deadline for entries ends on the 31st of March. A maximum of 5 pieces of artwork will be accepted. Please send selected artwork in the following format for consideration :

OOH Open House – call for entries

OOH Open House

OIC is proud to announce a mini art show in collaboration with A Curious Teepee- a tribute to the Bienalle’s theme of “Open House”.

We are looking for amazing illustrators who serves up fresh and tasty works. Share with us art that has savory wit, saccharin sweet using vivid palettes, generously sprinkled it with happiness and positivity!
We will be waiting with baited breath for your submissions.
Its a great way to kickstart of the awesome year that will be 2011!

Theme : “Open House”

Lets:
let your artwork breathe wholesome goodness.
Anything witty, fun and happy and dare we even say a little bit of kitsch!

Lets Not:
Look back into the deep abyss we call the dark side.
Not let those tormented souls and offensive religious art of any form be at this playground.

210mm x 210mm – SQUARE FORMAT
Natural media and non-digital preferred
No sculpture or any 3D artwork please!
We love your drawings!

As part of our 4th anniversary celebration- we are inviting YOU to join in the fun by showcasing your work – HAND DRAWN and FRAMED in WHITE.
Your artwork will be shown and sold at MAAD Market ( 2nd Oct ) and OIC’s corner at The National Art Gallery event ( 9th – 10th Oct ).
Sales proceeds goes to the artist (OIC will take a handling fee to cover cost)

2. There is a handling charge for artwork sold of 25% to help us cover cost. All sale poceeds/ money due to artists will be settled at MAAD as stated above.

OIC 4th Anniversary roll-call

Each artwork will also feature links to the artists website and some useful info about the illustrators.

This new platform is an on going exercise and will provide many hits and publicity when launched.

Minimum requirements:

  1. This call for entries is open to all budding students/ hobbyist/ professional illustrators residing and practicing in Singapore.
  2. No age limit.
  3. You can submit maximum 3 entries per artist based on any combination of the listed themes.
    Theme: Cute/ Fashion/ Action/ Surreal/ Cityscape/ Futuristic/ Others ( Pick a theme for each artwork ) You can submit as many as you want- we will pick the best 3 for now. That said we will try to showcase as many good artwork as we can.
  4. New Artwork preferred.
  5. Artwork must be submitted as instructed and in the stated formats and sizes. Read the instructions.
    We need to include 1 more size- 1024 x 1024 pixels. Template has been updated . Export your art was OPTIMIZED for web ( See this tutorial if you are not sure- http://inobscuro.com/tutorials/read/35/ ) .
    Recommend web sizes for the 3 jpgs at 72dpi  - ( small – less than 120k/  mid – less than 500k / big – less than 600k )
  6. Its is a good practice to make sure your original artwork is at least A3 size at 300dpi in case we manage to secure a space to do an exhibition to feature your work. ( added 2010/07/07 )
  7. Each artist must have a proper dedicated folio blog/ website of illustrated works ( tumblr/ blogger or wordpress or a website. No Deviant gallery please.) with contact info ( email address / hp number etc )
  8. Only selected works will be featured on our final “project” based on careful evaluation by OIC’s selection panel to ensure quality control.  This clause is only added to assure participants we hope to uphold quality and good work.
  9. Closing date is 31st July 2010 2359hrs

Now it’s your turn to share your passion.

Jack Daniel’s invites you to create a unique piece of art using one of our handcrafted single barrels. The barrel is your canvas, to do with what you will. Check out the attached short film. Call for folio submission for TVC work

“AGENCY LOOKING FOR SINGAPORE BASED ILLUSTRATORS TO WORK ON A TELEVISION COMMERCIAL TO BE BROADCASTED ON NATIONAL TELEVISION!”

International agency looking at using illustrations to create an edgy commercial, something that has yet to be seen on television in Singapore.

This would a great opportunity and platform to showcase your talents.

This TVC is centered around people, sports and activities, at the same time we are not looking for wholesome clean cut style, something “edgy” is what we are looking for.

We are currently exploring many different styles of illustrations so please do send us a few examples of what you can do!
