Happy National Day everyone! Portraits After Dark is a monthly portrait event OIC have been running at MAAD since 2007! Think of it as a “community centre” for illustrators /artists of all skill levels to hangout, draw, know and inspire one another!
This event is only made possible because of the time / service contributed by busy illustrators/ friends / volunteers!
Come! Let’s make awesome drawings together!
Join us even if you don’t like drawing portraits ( We are illustrators! We draw ANYTHING- not just portraits! ):

How to join if you don’t draw

  • We need event volunteers
  • We need writers, interviewers, bloggers ( writing interviews, reviews and articles ) We need motion graphics, film, video makers

How to join if you illustrate

  • Keen to be part of the illustration community and work with others to make the scene even better and interesting!
  • Reasonably good / interesting illustration folio. ( of course we love good work but even more important is a friendliness, good attitude and humility. )
  • Loves to make friends and can work / collab with fellow artists.
  • We exercise a – “we contribute by sharing about others 1st policy”  Too often we have to turn away artists who are only interested in pimping their own work and nothing else.
  • Born or based in Singapore.

Noise Sessions is an initiative by Noise Singapore, in collaboration with OIC, where regular workshops, talks and networking sessions are held throughout the year to provide participants with arts exposure.

This session will feature a Lecture and Portfolio Review by young and upcoming illustrators André Wee, Darel Seow, Teresa Lim (Teeteeheehee), Lee Xin Li (Pok Pok & Away) and Clara Yee. Join us and learn how these young illustrators made their break into the industry with their self-initiated projects.

OICsingapore have been running this monthly  portrait events since 2007 ( 9 years already!! ) We the organisers are all busy illustrators and this was a relatively easy event to organise thanks to your support and all our participants & friends/ volunteers.
We are illustrators! We draw ANYTHING- not just portraits!

The aim was to have an event to let the public see the wonderful talents we have in Singapore creating drawings on the spot and most importantly – a “community centre” for illustrators and drawers to meet/ hangout and be inspired

Come discover a side of figure drawing that is fun and relaxing, where you have the freedom to draw however you like, with whatever you want!

OIC Interpretive Drawing Sessions give you a space to explore your own style and your own medium, without the tedious academia.

Bring your favoured medium and join a session of like-minded illustrators to draw multiple professional figure drawing models.

Let’s CREATE!! : This is our 2nd meetup! We are reviewing some of our ideas and work-in-progress. You can still join in if you miss the 1st meet up but be ready to draw. No spectators please! Let’s make zines! Register to participate –

Some of our heroes and inspirations are Robert Crumbs, Charles Burns, Tom Gauld, Michael Deforge, publishers like Fantagraphics, NoBrow etc….

We are lovers of crazy production techniques, high quality limited print runs, signed one of a kind riso printed books, hand pulled silkscreens books of illustrated poetry and not forgetting lo-fi hand drawn photocopies- anything off the beaten track and that is well made!

We designed this group to cater to creators who are NOT Anime, Marvel, Disney, super heroes or mainstream comics, CG art, concept art or fanart fans. 

Our aim

This is a meet up to discuss the zines you would like to produce and also a jam session to get your juices going! Ideally everybody would be producing 1 zine each every one or two months.

We meet every month whenever possible.

Zines production will be self funded unless otherwise stated. We may select certain titles to be collectively produced under the OIC banner.
