Thank you very much for those who attended the drawing session at YMCA today.

I would like to apologize if there was any inconvenience as it was my first time taking charge of this activity. Will certainly improve for our future sessions and of course, any suggestions are welcome. We might want to try with dramatic lighting! (Also longer sessions)
Down with flu, gonna rest now. See you next month!

Hi All.
Following up with the posting done by Drew and Zid. Some drawings i did during the figure drawing session on 30 Jan 2010 in Substation. Went in late and abit unprepare so i ended up using my trusty mechanic pencil and a graphite pencil. As for the paper, i’m using a earthbound recycled sketchbook by Daler Rowney. Thanks Ag and Mike for putting this session togther.

Here are some of mine. Was trying out Drewscape’s technique of using a midtone ink brush. I try to nail the figure with the midtones then use a black brush to secure the final shape.

Here are some drawings from saturday’s figure drawing session. Used pencil or ballpoint with gouache applied with a waterbrush and sometimes black ink. I tend to go with a contour drawing technique (seeing and following the outlines of shapes) rather than a body proportion construction technique. Seems to work better for me and keeps the figures more fluid. Please share your drawings too. Thanks to anngee for organising. ( to view the images easily cmd+click on the images )
