Andy Yang’s solo show “Emotions”

Posted: August 30th, 2011 | Author: mindflyer | Filed under: exhibition | Tags: , , , , , , | Comments Off

This is a new solo show by Andy Yang- The ‘Emotions’ series came about as a reaction to music soundscapes composed beforehand and repeated to create a trance-like painting style strongly rooted in Abstract Expressionism. Raw emotions are invoked as layers upon layers of paint are laid down like tracks on a musical score creating a visual map of emotions.

San San’s new portrait of Fleecircus

Posted: February 17th, 2011 | Author: San San | Filed under: portfolio, workflow | Tags: , , , , | 6 Comments »

This a painting of my favorite illustrator and photographer! Can you guess who she is? :)

It’s based on a photo that she took of herself and i wanted to add in some elements that are associated with her – chairs, the outdoors, nature, birds. You can see from the progressives that it took some time to get to the final picture, but the journey was fun. The painting is 36″ x 48″, acrylic on canvas.

happiness is a warm cat

while listening to the beatles i came across a fantastic and heartwarming post – of a homeless man losing his cat and he finds it again.

this guy had nothing in the world but his cat! not a single coin or dime (initially i wanted to draw an ang pow but it’s just plain insensitive and wrong, man). just him and his cat and a spontaneous addition of a bak kwa.

since it is also nearing the tiger lunar new year + valentines day – this doodle somehow came together like this.

Flying Machine

This is a flying machine I did today while waiting to some jobs. Exact time not sure but won’t be too long.

The idea is to create some low tech look but high tech vehicle. Inspire but antique airplanes and cars.
